very poor unpaved roads, in a bad shape due to the heavy rain as every year around this time, squeezed in overcrowded jeeps, for 12 people but carrying up to 20 with some hanging on the roof even, avoiding wild or lost horses and cows on the way, crossing old bridges, some with borders subsided brought us to a four houses street that holds an important archeaologic site.
the area, in fact, has been home of civilizations that excavated, adorned and painted tombs pretty much 5000 years ago as much as the statues we visited in San Augustin previously this week.
before reaching here, though, we needed an unexpected stop in a small village, half way, to recover a bit from physical troubles. funny, small town in a valley on a sunday noon when everybody was out drinking, shopping and eating and the horses were literally "parked" outside the bars!! as well as the 4 houses street, officially known as Tierradentro but not really existing on the maps, in fact, people still rely on horses as main transportation method.
here where small bags filled with water are hanged on doors to be a original and the traditional way used against flies and mosquitoes! or where you might have few chickens as next seat on the bus and the cat in the hostel chasing a little mouse in the kitchen while you cooking!! still is fun!! but just about chasing if it's a young bull or better a calf chasing you the fun becomes thrill!!
some of the tombs, in fact, are located on the highest peaks of the landscape around Tierradentro and a 4-5 hours trek, climb is required.
beautiful sunny day, nice track and amazing views, mystic tombs till the young calf stood on our way seeming lost or scared!! for sure we were not lost!!, but we tricked him and managed to carry on without jumping on trees as other tourists told us they did!!
Tierradentro was the place where you had to order "a la carte" 2 hours before for your meal and the convenience stores sold pretty much nothing cause the market is only just one day per week and the truck delivering beers and soft drinks was not around since a month, though beautiful and relaxing archealogical escapade and today after the most uncomfortable bus ride ever we returned to the normality...
strade non asfaltate in condizioni pessime, mal messe dalle pioggie come ogni anno di questi tempi, spremuti in jeeps strapieni, per 12 ma che trasportano fino a 20 alcuni addirittura sul portabagagli, evitando nel cammino mucche e cavalli persi o selvaggi, oltrepassando vecchi ponti, alcuni con i margini ceduti ci hanno portato a una strada con quattro case che accoglie un importante sito archeologico.
l'area infatti raccoglie tombe scavate, adornate e dipinte da civilizzazioni piu' o meno una 5000 anni come le statue di San Augustin visitate precedetentemente in settimana.
sebbene, prima di arrivarci, abbiam necessitato un inaspettato stop in un piccolo villaggio a meta' strada per recuperare un po' di fastidi fisici. divertente, piccolo paesino in una valle in un normale domenica mezzogiorno quando tutti son in giro a bere, far compere e mangiare e i cavalli letteralmente "parcheggiati" fuori dai bar!! come la strada con quattro case, ufficialmente conosciuta come Tierradentro, ma non esistente realmente sulle mappe, infatti molta gente contano sui cavalli come principale metodo di trasporto.
qui dove piccole buste riempite con acqua e appese sulle porte sono l'originale e la tradizionale maniera per scacciare mosche e zanzare!! o dove come vicino di autobus ti puoi ritrovare un paio di galline o dove il gatto dell'ostello insegue un piccolo topolino in cucina mentre stai cucinando!! comunque divertente!! a proposito di inseguimenti.. se e' un giovane toro o meglio vitello a inseguirti il divertimento diventa brivido!!
alcune delle tombe, infatti, si trovano sul picco piu' alto del paesaggio circostante Tierradentro e una camminata, scalata di 4-5 ore e' richiesta.
bellissima giornata di sole, chiaro sentiero e eccezionale viste panoramiche, mistiche tombe fino a quando il vitellino malefico si e' messo sul nostro cammino sembrando perso o spaventato! di certo noi non eravamo persi! aggirandolo siam riusciti a proseguire evitando di saltare sugli alberi come alcuni altri turisti han detto di aver fatto!!
Tierradentro era il posto dove dovevi prenotare 2 ore prima al ristorante per la cena e gli alimentari vendevano poco o niente perche' il mercato era solo una volta per settimana e il camion che recapita birre e bevande analcoliche non si vede da un mesetto, nonostante cio' bella e rilassante scappatella archeologica e oggi dopo uno dei piu' scomodi viaggi in bus vissuti siam ritornati alla normalita'...
