What is christmas...?

In the last week I have been wondering a bit about the meaning of christmas, as joke I said that is that day of the year where everybody wears mask and make jokes around...that is carnival...but I now stop and think just when people are putting back the trees and the lights and I guess also at christmas people put on a mask professing to be nicer people and give gifts around that most of the time are bullshits then jokes...maybe also Easter and valentines day have the same meaning...I have been told by my Philippino colleagues that in their language Xmas is Pascuo or at least pronounced like this that reminds the Latin word for Easter, Pasqua...
Gunta asked me, if we have a kid will you play the role and keep the magic of Christmas alive?
I had actually asked this to myself few days before and I replied: I guess I should, but then I have to take part of a system or circus that doesn't belong to me...
