the rainy season in this part of the Caribbean runs usually from september to november and it's considered the winter even if the temperatures stay anyway above the 20-25 degrees!!so a bit of rain has arrived and more clouds are starting to fill the sky and even the water looks a bit cooler..
in the meanwhile the political situation has brought us to experience, partly, something new: a curfew; the country was, in fact, shut down for 24 hours and people asked to be inside their houses also considering that everything from airports to bus stations, from restaurants to fruit shops were unavailable!! obviously the small island lives it in a more relaxed and quiet mood with no vandalism or political fanaticism.
on the other side, life on the island has brought to light the important problem of the drug consumption, Utila that seems to be a strategical hub in Central America has then experienced again the death of a young guy (from the States) last sunday!!
forgetting the negative things we carry on organizing our farewell...
la stagione delle pioggie in questa parte dei Caraibi va di solita da settembre a novembre ed e' considerato l'inverno seppur le temperature si mantengano comunque sopra i 20-25 gradi!!quindi un po di pioggia e' arrivata e piu' nuvole cominciano a riempire il cielo e addirittura l'acqua sembra piu' fredda..
nel frattempo la situazione politica ci ha portato a vivere, in parte, qualcosa di nuovo: un coprifuoco; il paese, infatti, e' stato "chiuso" per 24 ore e la gente invitata a rimanere nelle loro case anche in considerazione del fatto che tutto da aeroporti a terminali, da ristoranti a fruttivendoli erano non disponibili!!ovviamente la piccola isola lo vive in una maniera piu' rilassata e tranquilla senza vandalismo e fanatismi politici.
dall'altro lato, la vita sull'isola ha portato alla luce l'importante problema del consumo di droga, Utila che sembra essere un centro strategico del Centro America ha quindi vissuto di nuovo la morte di un giovane (Statunitense) domenica scorsa!!
dimenticando le cose negative continuiamo organizzando il nostro saluto..
