part of the reason of our longer stay on Utila, the one street island where crabs, lazy talking Caribbean and scuba tanks abound, is the diving and the near future..
Utila, considered one of the cheapest places possibly in the world to learn how to dive, is where I just got qualified as rescue diver, officially meaning that I can potentially help somebody in trouble when diving, but for me meaning one step away from becoming an underwater guide!!
about the near future... we have been awaiting for the right opportunity since Colombia, if somebody remembers, where we had started searching for a job "to top up and keep going"...
obviously a trip like this, needs money and many (maybe) of the few (more likely) readers of this blog might still wonder how is, economically speaking, possible all this that I am doing..
my proud answer to the curious is : "I don't smoke, I don't drink (much, alcohol!!) and I don't drug myself", and who can tell me wrong.. but there are choices in life..
officially on the road since.., 328 days today, we have the plan for that top up and keep going...
..our next destination, in fact, will be Grand Cayman Island of the Cayman Islands, unknown to many (maybe) of the few (more likely) readers of this blog...but located between Cuba and Jamaica that many (maybe) of you should know...
that's where the 3rd part of the trip will be starting...
una delle ragione del nostro lungo soggiorno in Utila, l'isola con una sola strada dove granchi, pigri Caraibici parlanti e bombole subacque, e' appunto le immersioni e il futuro prossimo..
Utila, considerato possibilmente uno dei piu' economici posti al mondo per imparare a fare immersioni, e' dove mi sono appena qualificato come rescue diver, che significa ufficialmente che posso potenzialmente aiutare qualcuno in difficolta' durante un immersione, ma che per me significa essere ad un passo dal diventare una guida subacquea!!
riguardo il futuro prossimo... abbiamo atteso per la giusta oppotunita' fin dalla Colombia, se qualcuno lo ricorda, dove avevamo cominciato a cercar un lavoro per "ricaricarci e proseguire"..
ovviamente un viaggio come questo richiede soldi e molti (forse) dei pochi (piu' probabile) lettori di questo blog si saranno chiesti come tutto cio' e', economicamente parlando, possibile.
la mia risposta orgogliosa ai curiosi e' : "non fumo, non bevo (molto, alcol!!), non mi drogo" e chi mi puo' dare torto..ma ci sono scelte nella vita..
ufficialmente "on the road" da.. 328 giorni oggi, abbiamo il progetto per ricaricarci e proseguire..
.. la nostra prossima destinazione, infatti, sara' Grand Cayman Island delle Isole Cayman, sconosciute a molti (forse) dei pochi (piu' probabile) lettori di questo blog.. ma ubicate tra Cuba e Jamaica che molti (forse) di voi dovrebbero conoscere..
e' li che comincera' la terza parte del viaggio..
