crossing the first border

Tigre is situated at the delta of the Rio del Plata meant to be one or the largest river in the world.
the strenght of the river in the years has created hundreads of small islands, so many that Miguel said that six months wouldn't be enough to know and visit all of them!!!
Miguel is the owner of the camping I have been staying in the last two days on one of the many islands..
short, hyppie, bald with long hair on the back, talkative, wild...nice guy really!!!
He also kindly invited me to join him and wife and friends in two of the most typical things here in Argentina: homemade empanadas and Mate..
I haven't said anything yet about mate yet, have I? What a shame....Mate is a herb infusion that argentinians or better Gauchos or precisely a wide part of southern South America love at any hour of the day. I haven't said anything about Gauchos yet either!!! Gauchos are in few words the cowboys of South America and precisely of the Pampas and southern regions of Brasil!!...so many things to learn while traveling..anyway mate can be drunk hot, cold or with juices and it needs proper straw and mate (gourds) and thermos to refill it all the time... I also learned that there is a small worm called "centimetro" because it moves in a centimetre speed step..I started the purification...experiencing and learning about the life with sleeping bag and tent..I will get used to mosquitoes, uncomfy night sleeps and lack of my vice..
By the way I am in Uruguay... two hours and half of navigation amongst the islands and I reached the uruguayan port of Carmelo.
small town, no much to do also because I got there at midday when everything is closed...just rent a bike to go and find the sign "Bienvenidos a Carmelo" at the entrance of the town for a memory picture for my father and something to eat...then bus to Colonia del Sacramento that is possibly the best place to visit in the country cause of the old town that has portuguese architecture and ruins..Sincerely I'm more interested in beaches and wineries...so I guess I will move soon...


Tigre si trova sul delta del Rio del Plata che si dice sia il o uno dei piu larghi fiumi al mondo.
la forza del fiume ha creato negli anni centinaia di piccole isole , così tante che sei mesi non basterebbero per conoscerle tutte Miguel mi ha detto!!!
Miguel è il proprietario del camping dove ho trascorso le passate due notti, su una delle suddette tante isole.Basso, hippie, calvo ma con capelli lunghi a coda, selvaggio nello stile e molto loquace..bravo signore...!!Mi ha anche invitato a unirmi a sua moglie e amici in due delle cose più tipiche tra gli argentini: le empanadas fatte in casa e il Mate.
Non vi ho ancora parlato del mate fino ad ora??Mate è una infusione di erbe che gli argentini o meglio i Gauchos o meglio un'ampia parte del meridionale del Sud America ama bere a qualsiasi ora del dì!
Non vi ho ancora parlato dei Gauchos neanche??Gauchos sono in poche parole i cowboy del Sud America o più precisamente delle Pampas e delle regioni del sud del Brasile...quante cose da imparare viaggiando..comunque ritornando al mate, può essere bevuto bollente, freddo o con succhi vari...e appositamente bevuto con una speciale cannuccia, un mate (fatto con una pianta tipica di qui) e il thermos sempre a portata di mano per riempirlo..
ho anche scoperto che esiste un piccolo verme chiamato "centimetro" per la sua caratteristica di muoversi a un centimetro alla volta...vabbe' è iniziata la mia fase di purificazione...imparando come sopravvivere con una tenda un sacco a pelo e ad accettare di dormire scomodi o alle zanzare o alla mancaza di vizi dovrò abituarmici..
per la cronaca sono in Uruguay...due ore e mezza di navigazione tra le varie isole per raggiungere il porto uruguayano di Carmelo.
un paesino piccolo, niente da fare anche perchè sono arrivato all'ora di pranzo e tutto era chiuso..ho solo mangiato e noleggiato una bici per raggiungere il segnale "Bienvenidos a Carmelo" all'entrata del paese e far la foto ricordo per papà...quindi l'autobus per Colonia del Sacramento che è molto probabilmente il posto più turistico del paese perchè ha una parte vecchia della città con rovine e architetture portoghesi..Sinceramente non quello che realmente cerco...mi muoverò presto alla ricerca di vigneti e spaiggie..
