solitudine?

sometimes I think that I could easily be staying in the arms of my gorgeous one or sitting next to the fireplace and enjoy family and healthy food....but some others I think that travelling is mad...it's addiction and abuse, it's fun and maturity, it's struggle and learning...I didn't manage to go north through the chilean Carretera Austral as I hoped but it's not always easy to arrange connections in high season and in this remote parts of the world, where in the information office you might find to assist you a barefoot teenager that cannot find his own office on the map or even better a mum in the middle of breastfeeding her little baby !!!So I just had another night bus on the Ruta 40...some more kilometres, few normal hours of delay, few more buena ondas, few more amazing endless landscapes and few more new sights...on this part of the Ruta you come to see nandu' running ahead the bus...ah nandu'..some kind of smaller ostrich alike...better if I say the Beep Beep of the animated cartoon..I am in the northern part of Patagonia now, the greenest part of the region and possibly the most touristic: San Carlos de Bariloche..the city centre in fact is quiet developed and even if I am tired, it's cloudy and the bus terminal has no tourist information...you get on with it and still believe that traveling is mad and that it's still worth...

Buena ondas...

que buena onda!!it's an argentinian way to refer to something or mainly somebody that is very cool and interesting..literally translated would be like "what a good wave!!"...
and there are many buenas ondas around....it's nice always while traveling to come and meet nice people to share good times...like Toni and Maxi, argentinian owners or runners of the backpacker-hotel I spent my last night in El Chalten or Tony,a bit more than middle aged australian backpacker next "seat" in my 14 hours night bus to Los Antiguos...
yesterday I went to Chile for few hours to organise my next moves possibly going north through the chilean side..then I came back to the sunny and crowded town of the cherries where I am camping...
the purification month is nearly over even though more purification time is just ahead precisely one week away and precisely on a cruise ship.....just hope to get Buenos Aires on time....

Into the wild

one week ago I was lying on a hot beach and now I have spent the past two nights in a freezing campsite at 700-800 metres facing the Andes.
this is kinda beaten track too cause the small town El Chalten is also said "la Mecca of the trekking"...everybody can adventure and experience the moderate (not really, honestly) trek to be able to enjoy of one of the best sight ever...when you enter the ranger instructs the do's and the don'ts, then free campings, no network, no banks, one ATM (just activated one week ago), more camping shops than bars and then adventure...and it is really amazing to face a endless beautiful panoramas of mountains and glaciers after4-5 hours of hilly tracks amongst old forests, hidden lakes, little torrents, powerful waterfalls, noisy wood-peckers, freezing lagoons, strong winds and cheeky rain and snow in the middle of burning sun...after five hours no stop I reach the campsite or better a place nearby a river, with a toilet (a hole in the ground with four plastic walls!!!) and some space for pitching a tent, where I arranged to meet my friends, there are around 50 tents!!!nice to know that all the water around me belonging to the national park are drinkable and that all the trash produced must be carried all the way back to town!!!
the night the temperature gets around 0-5 degrees, now that is summer!!my sleeping bag helped me to survive...I slept 12 hours!!!sacrilege!!!!!
this part of the country is very remote (I guess only!!), at the border with Chile, with poor bus connections and unspoiled territories, and that's why I am stuck here for longer than I planned...the only bus available to my next destination Los Antiguos through the popular Ruta 40 is on thursday night (to be /and booked four days in advance!!)
In Los Antiguos there is the official border to enter Chile and the first week of january the festival of cherries...by the way two months are gone safely and enthusiastically well for the happiness of my family, that I love and my girlfriend, that I miss....

Into the real travel....

thousands of km of flat, empty road getting greener and more powerful (emotionally speaking)km after km instead of bore you....
some falcons here and there, few herds of sheep and sometimes guanacos crossing dangerously the road...amazing straight roads and scenic landscapes where you can come across road signes informing you that the next towns are 800-900 km away!!
it's hard to describe the view and no pictures can really give a proper idea: one road (quite well paved actually), no trees, no crosses nor traffic lights, endless scenery and huge cloudy sky above...but the adventure is always around...we got to destination two hours late that meant no buses till night...many travellers were stuck at the bus terminal so I and two dutch guys opted for renting a car and drive the 300 km of amazing road that separeted us from the Andean small town we are meant to reach..
hadn't seen a bed for six nights and the last 48 hours were very frenetic...judge me but I had no possibility to get changed or wash myself, even eat...all day yesterday I had some biscuits, one apple, one banana, two fried pieces of some kind of bread like, some water and a shot of whisky in the night to "celebrate" the meeting with a israeli friend...judge me but honestly traveling is not the red little flag of the guides only...
by the way at the moment I am on the beaten track: Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate, Patagonia.tomorrow already moving on for a new and unusual or better different experience..I planned to go trekking with some israeli friends for a couple of days on one of the most popular peaks of the Patagonian Andes...rich of interesting tips also my new year's eve...but that will be another story and chapter..travelling is calling...

couchsurfing

I always like to say philosophically that we are around 6-7 billions of people in the world and that obviously means being different in many ways, but sometimes there are bizzarre matches or I realise that at the end there is no need of many efforts to get to be similar...I am couchsurfing with somebody that seems to match my interests perfectly and ..even friends...
Life can be mad...scrolling some of her pictures we accidentally realised, not knowing it, that we have an italian friend in common and this is extremely mad!!
my new year's eve will be unusual, like my past christmas actually...I will be with friends and relatives of my new friend..people I have never met before, like my past christmas actually...sounds pretty weird but it should be fun...
anyway from tomorrow the travelling will get tough, more than 40 hours of bus are awaiting for me to take me in the deep south where the well known Tierra del Fuego is.
Feliz año nuevo from Argentina....
