halo?

this year I have already experienced some unusual and amazing (it depends though!!) "behaviours" of the nature, that I wouldn't know how to categorise but as natural behaviours (if you do know, please comment it...)... I am talking precisely about a strong earthquake and a meteor fall ... today instead I saw something I didn't know existed..and that possibly you will also have no clue about...I had to search it myself and it's technically called "halo"..guess you didn't know it either, or maybe you did if you have been greeting somebody in German!!!...or if you have seen some sacred figures or saints..but what I am talking about is the optical phenomenon...it's like a rainbow surrounding the sun. nahh!!



quest'anno ho già vissuto di prima persona degli inusuali e bellissimi (vabbè dipende!!) comportamenti della natura, che non saprei come definirli se non come comportamenti naturali (se lo sapete commentatemelo per favore..)...sto parlando precisamente di un forte terremoto e della caduta di una meteora ..oggi però ho assistito invece a qualcosa che non sapevo esistesse..e possibilmente non molti ne sanno dell'esistenza,,,ho dovuto fare ricerche perchè non avevo idea di che si trattasse e tecnicamente è chiamato "halo" in inglese che sarebbe alone o aureola in italiano..credo che ne abbiate solo sentito parlare quando sudate in maniera esagerata dalle ascelle o se si parla di santi e figure sacre..o se proprio prorio vi siete trovati a salutare dei Tedeschi...ma quello di cui sto parlando è un fenomeno ottico...che si evidenzia sotto forma di un arcobaleno che racchiude il sole.nahh!!

il viaggio si fa serio...

It's my last week here in Buenos Aires...it's time to go, time to move on and start to discover! on monday I will move to the northern part of the greater Buenos Aires called Tigre where I will be taking the boat to Uruguay.
so far I have no real plan but I am intending to leave my stuff here in the Capital Federal and go for a month of camping and computer purification with a sleeping bag, a shirt and something for colder weather!!! the blog should be updated anyway I hope...
I am trying to squeeze everything in a month and visit as much as I can of Uruguay and then Patagonia.
In the meanwhile I am still appreciating all the colourful aspects of this city...yesterday in fact I was walking around Palermo or better Palermo viejo (old) handing around those cruise things you all know about..Palermo is the biggest quarter and includes rich, old, trendy and Hollywood neighborhoods..
you can come across a horse-car overpassed by a BMW near a very funky street artists shop..
So far I haven't dedicated much time to the cuisine here that is also very good and if I am still blaming my self for not having attended a traditional parrilla (typical grill bar), I am enjoying the sweets and cookies..they are everywhere and there is so much choice..traditional Argentinian are in fact dulce de leche and membrillo, respectively caramel and quince...when I say traditional I mean they are on everything..but yesterday I bought a sweet potato jelly just to try...
by the way, just to inform the curious and very smart ones, 18 brasiliAns are staying in the hostel at the moment , and barbecue will be expected tonight...

È la mia ultima settimana a Buenos Aires..è ora di andare, continuare e/a scoprire!! lunedì mi sposto a Tigre che si trova nella parte nord della Gran Buenos Aires e da lì in barca raggiungere l'Uruguay.
per ora non ho un progetto seppur sto considerando seriamente di lasciar la roba nella Capitale Federale e partire per un mesetto di campeggio e purificazione dal computer con sacco a pelo, magliette e qualcosa per il freddo!! il blog lo dovrei aggiornar comunque spero..
Proverò a visitar il più possibile di Uruguay e Patagonia nel poco tempo che ho..
nel frattempo sto ancora godendo della moltitudine di colori che la città ha da offrire...ieri infatti camminavo per il quartiere di Palermo o meglio Palermo viejo (vecchio) consegnando ancora quelle cose della crociera che oramai sapete..Palermo è il quartiere più grande della città e comprende di una parte ricca, vecchia, alla moda e Hollywood..
puoi quindi trovarti di fronte un BMW che sorpassa un carro trainato da cavalli vicino un funky (per la traduzione, andate per intuito) negozio per artisti di strada..
nel blog non ho dedicato molto tempo alla cucina locale che è molto buona...seppur mi vergogni di non aver ancora visitato una parrilla (posto tipico dove si griglia carne, sarebbe..) sto godendo dei dolci e biscotti che si trovano ovunque e di una varietà assurda..tipici argentini sono infatti dulce de leche e membrilla che son rispettivamente il caramello e la mela cotogna..quando dico tipici intendo dire che li mettono su qualsiasi cosa..ieri comprai però una gelatina di patata dolce che non avevo mai provato..ci buun..!!mi sia perdonato l'intercalare dialettale..
per quanto riguarda le curiosità e per i più svegli, son arrivati ieri 18 ragAzzi dal Brasile, stasera si prevede barbecue..

viaggiatori e avventurieri

when you are on the road like this you meet many people that are on the road too seriously....so I realised after a month here that I was sharing the room with this 23 years old brasilian guy that is doing South America by bycicle...and honestly I felt small (yes I did!!since young I actually do!! )...I stopped and thought that that would be tough, that would be real adventure..it's not my type and I possibly don't envy him, but honestly speaking this is mad to me...and actually for experience it wouldn't even be that bad to try..or like another guy in his forties from Germany that uses motorbike instead and that is here since 3 years..back to me, at the moment I am considering the best route to visit Patagonia that is one of the main touristic areas of Argentina, through the Pampas and the Atlantic coastline before boarding the cruise to Antartica on january the 17th.

quando si viaggia si incontrano molti viaggiatori, ma seri viaggiatori...ho infatti realizzato dopo un mese che stavo dividendo la stanza con un ragazzo brasiliano 23enne che sta visitando il Sud America in bicicletta...devo esser sincero ma mi so sentito piccolo (si piccolo!!sinceramente è da quando avevo 10 anni..vabbè..).
ci ho riflettuto e sinceramente deve essere duro, e si che sarebbe avventura quella..non è comunque il tipo di viaggio che fa per me e possibilmente non lo invidio, ma onestamente è da pazzi...e un pò per esperienza non sarebbe neanche male provarci..o come un ragazzo tedesco sulla quarantina che è in giro con la sua moto da tre anni...tornando a me, al momento comunque sto valutando il migliore itinerario per visitare Patagonia che è una delle più turistiche zone del paese,attraversando la Pampa e le coste Atlantiche prima di imbarcarmi per la crociera in Antartica il 17 di gennaio.

loving Buenos Aires

I am day by day believing more and more that Buenos Aires is one of the best cities I have been in.
today I went for a long walk in the San Telmo quarter to look for hostels where to leave the announcement of my cruise...ah yes! I reserved and bought the cruise journey I wrote about in the previous post and I will be visiting the South Pole in january...the only thing is that now I need to find another person that travels with me and shares the costs...
so as I headed to the old part of Buenos Aires, where the majority of the hostels are located and handed copies of the itinerary hoping somebody will contact me...by the way I just read on the local newspaper that an icebreaker cruise ship stranded in the Antarctic Peninsula...everybody is safe but it's not the first "Titanic story" I hear....anyway on the same newspaper I read as main new of the day the death of a sindacalist and of 15 injured during a fight amongst two opposite syndicalists parties..."es normal acà" an argentinian told me..I then recalled that this is still the country of Che Guevara...
today the weather was perfect and very spring, discovered beautiful new parts of the city and met many interesting people and cool hostels, bought two books and will start study portuguese soon to get ready for Brasil....for the curiosity of some of you tomorrow I will cut my hair....

Credo realmente che Buenos Aires sia una delle piú belle citta' che abbia visitato finora..oggi son andato a farmi una lunga camminata nel quartiere di San Telmo alla ricerca di ostelli dove lasciare l'annuncio della crociera...ah si! ho riservato e comprato la crociera della quale parlavo nel passato post e partiro' per il Polo Sud in gennaio...ora devo solo cercar qualcuno con cui viaggiare cosi' da dividere i costi..
cosi' mi son diretto per la parte piu' vecchia della citta', dove la maggior parte degli ostelli e' ubicata e consegnato l'itinerario sperando che qualcuno mi contatti...nel frattempo ho appena letto nel quotidiano locale che una crociera rompighiaccio si e' arenata nelle acque della Penisola Antartica...i passeggeri son tutti salvi ma non e' la prima "storia da Titanic" che sento..sullo stesso giornale ho letto come notizia di prima pagina della morte di un sindacalista e di 15 feriti dopo scontri tra due fazioni sindacaliste opposte...."es normal acá" un ragazzo argentino mi ha detto....poi riflettendoci su..questo e' sempre il paese di Che Guevara...
oggi il tempo era perfetto e molto primaverile, ho scoperto bellissime nuove parti della citta' e incontrato persone interessanti e fantastici ostelli, ho comprato due libri e presto mi mettero' sotto per studiar portoghese ed esser pronto per il Brasile...per i curiosi tra voi domani mi taglio i capelli..

busy but getting going

when you have two jobs and a trip to organise you cannot really experience much touristically speaking, even though it is in the real life that hides what a tourist cannot see...(complicated?) I mean that now I am living the real Buenos Aires : the everyday packed underground to go to work, the argentinian colleagues, and the stress of the bosses or people around you and their problems, the shortness of cash and coins widespread (that it doesn't mean poverty, but of liquidity) , as well as what I like most the free daily newspapers given outside the metro stations to be read during the trip!you get to know how complicated the political situation is, or that they are so short of electricity that there are cuts already now that is spring!!!anyway along all this crazy lifestyle I decided to live (precisely 63 working hrs, 2 night shifts, next week around 77 hrs!!and I am not saying what I earn!!) I have to deal with a beautiful girl/bestfriend I risk to loose and a trip that has to take me to visit as much as possible of the Americas!
On friday, I (or better my "Obama everything is possible" american friend following me here in my Buenos Aires' visit) found a great cheap cruise deal that would take me to discover the Antartica (oh yes the South Pole!!!) and all the coastline of Argentina and Chile starting in the Capital Federal and ending in Valparaiso!how exciting!!
Amongst the things you can happen to experience is to have an italian guest in your shop that has a certain popularity : Giuseppe Materazzi. ok...that for the no-football people maybe has more popularity by being Marco Materazzi's father than by his player-coaching experience!
if you don't know Marco Materazzi you might know Zinedine Zidane!!!ok back to seriousness important decision must be taken and decision sometimes are like bets!!...

quando hai due lavori e un viaggio da continuare e da organizzare non puoi realmente dire che stai facendo il turista, ma è nella vita di tutti i giorni che si nasconde quello che un turista non può vedere..(complicato, ma si dovrebbe capire!!), voglio dire che ora sto vivendo la vera Buenos Aires : la metropolitana strapiena quotidianamente, i colleghi argentini, gli stress e problemi dei capi, la mancanza preoccupante di soldi e monete (che non significa povertà, ma di liquidità), e la cosa che forse più amo i quotidiani gratuiti distribuiti nelle stazioni metro da leggere durante il viaggio!lì che riesci a capire la complessa organizzazione politica nazionale o anche i problemi di elettricità che portano a dei tagli già ora che è ancora primavera!!
in ogni modo mentre cerco di gestire questo pazzo stile di vita che ho deciso di vivere (precisamente 63 ore di lavoro, 2 turni di notte, la prossima settimana 77 ore!! e non vi dico le paghe) devo cercare di non perdere la mia bellissima ragazza e organizzarmi per il viaggio che vorrei mi porti a scoprire il più possibile delle Americhe!!
venerdì io (o meglio la mia "Obama tutto è possibile" amica americana venutami a visitare appositamente a Buenos Aires) ho trovato un interessante economica crociera che mi porterebbe a scoprire l' Antartica (oh yes il Polo Sud!!) viaggiando per le coste argentine e cilene partendo dalla Capitale Federale e finendo a Valparaiso!!malefico!!
tra le altre cose che ti posson succedere c'è anche stranamente quella di ritrovarsi un cliente italiano illustre nel tuo negozio : Giuseppe Materazzi. ok.. forse per i non amanti del calcio più famoso per essere il padre di Marco Materazzi che per le sue gesta da calciatore e allenatore!
se non conoscete Marco Materazzi dovreste conoscere Zinedine Zidane!!o no?!!?
ok ritornando al serio..delle importanti decisioni devono essere prese e a volte decisioni son scommese...quindi..
